I happen to know a WWII vet. that will be 91 years old on December 9 of this year.
He's the greatest man on earth,as far as I am concerned. He's is a true hero to me and to all who have ever made his acquaintance.
He has a real tough time getting around, these days but,I remember when he was in his 40's and very spry. He taught me to shoot, how to live off the land.He taught me respect and honesty.Truly a great man..
He just happens to be my father,David J Muntz. He was born on Dec. 9 1924.

I go to a local VA Hospital quite often for medical care.

I always see WWII vets, Korean war Vets, and a ton of Vietnam Vets while I am there.

I always try and think them for their service, and shake their hands while I am there.

That is an excellent piece to read. Be thankful for all these years you have had with him. And enjoy what ever time you have left. Thank him from the rest of us also.

My uncle was a great man, during the wwII ad Korea he was a fighter pilot, he was the one that talked me into joining, he was married to my dads sister, my dad had 5 brothers, my dad was too young to join, but 2 were in the marines, 2 were in the navy, the other was in the army. to listen to some of their stories, those that fought in WWII really were a great breed, I am not down playing our troops in the service today, but when you looked at what those men went through, its just short of a miracle that so many survived.
Any time I get to meet anyone that's been around since WWII, I shake his hand and listen to every word he says.
