We're just getting into this and it seems like there is a lot we don't know ... and we're looking at several different services ... not looking for illegal downloads
The wife said tonight that with companies like Rhapsody, Nabster and emusic you are renting the music and when you end your subscription you give up your rights to it ... with itunes you actually own the music just like if you bought the CD
is this right?
Who do you use and why?
Thanks in advance!

If you really desire something, you'll find a way ?
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.

All the family gives me Itune gift cards for my birthday .
I like it ,but also will borrow CD's from friends long enough to download to the computer .
Be sure to make a backup incase your Computer crashes .
Don't want to buy the music more than once ![;)]
It cost like .99-1.29 per song to download, Just think like 5-7 years ago we were buying cds with 16 songs on them for like $20, and most of the songs sucked anyhow so now you can get the best cd ever(all songs you wanted on there) for the same money.
And yes I used to use Napster and Kazaa before Itunes but am happy to pay what we pay now and not have to worry about crap like we did back then.
Itunes--When people do things to save money (like people who download free ant-virus software than complain about computer problems) it always seems to cost them in the long run.
ive tried to make that argument here at least a hundred times, but it always seems to fall on deaf ears....
I use iTunes on the rare occasion I download anything. As stated earlier, always backup!

I don't know about Itunes but I have picked up whole albums for 5.99 or less off amazon.
I only buy in single song format if I only like one song or two.
It's totally free and fast.

If U want to view movies, download the vlc player.
www.vlcplayer.com
and play the movies through that.
Music will play on your devices default player or, any player you choose to.
Vuze is a great virus free downloader... it culls from several bit torrent sites, so you have a many sources to download from.. it's free...you CAN donate to them, but you don't have to.. if you do donate, you get more services and free stuffs as a "plus member"...
you can download single songs, whole albums, movies, documentaries, tv shows (by the episode or by the season), books, sometimes even magazines...
VLC media player (VideoLan) is a great multifile player. It'll play cd's, dvd's, mp3's, m4a's, and many other formats. It's also free. I only have 1 beef with it, and that is that I have trouble selecting multiple files to play in sequence.. like episode 1, episode 2 etc...other than that.. I have zero problems with it.
If you're into Johnny Cash, this is your lucky day!
