I do not see it happening any time soon. For the paper work, regulations and having to hire armed guards 24/7. I do not see any one growing acres of pot like they did tobacco around here.

On the other hand every time you hear of the cops busting a local grower. "The plants have a street value of $2000 to $3000 each."

If they are worth that much. Let them grow 50 to 75 plants a year to get the economy going again.

Whether true or not, it shows they are well up on developments so it won't take long.

That is how to WIN the War on Drugs. Legalize marijuana in the US & it would take a huge chunk out of the cartels earnings. Gov. Rick Perry called for the state to move toward decriminalizing small amounts of marijuana in Texas. I think they should. Just FYI I don't smoke it but I do have an Aunt with MS that does. She says it doesn't make her sick like the Rx pills do.
