Is this group a backdoor antigun group?

Today I was listening to a radio show and they had a guy on from a "pro gun" group called the American Hunting & Shooting Assoc. I had never heard of them before and after listening to the guy talk to ME he sounded more like some anti group posing as a pro. Here is a little blurb from their homepage which he pretty much espoused on the radio show(which was the Ed Schultz show--a liberal talk show although the host does hunt---I listen to it from time to time to see what the other side is up to)
Today, the Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment of the Constitution guarantees the individual right to keep and bear arms.
Ray Schoenke, President of the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) stated: "On behalf of our many thousands of members, we applaud this decision, which is critically important for all of us who believe in gun rights. This balanced, thoughtful approach to the Second Amendment is shared by an overwhelming majority of the nation's 80 million gun owners, including AHSA's members. The Supreme Court has soundly rejected the extreme views of the N.R.A., which espouse unlimited access to any weapon. "
In fact, of the 70 amicus briefs filed, AHSA's brief, which advances unique arguments that were joined by a number of top-ranked military leaders, was one of the few cited by the Court during oral argument in March and in today's opinion. The Supreme Court's opinion completely validates AHSA's position.
The AHSA, unlike the N.R.A., takes a responsible approach to firearms policy. Firearm rights must be balanced with important civic responsibilities. Hunters and shooters fully accept their civic responsibilities. The Second Amendment does not bar reasonable public policies, which are good for gun owners and the public alike. Such safety measures also ensure that all Americans will continue to enjoy the benefits of this basic and historic liberty.
Today, Justice Scalia confirms what AHSA has long advocated: Americans enjoy an individual right to keep and bear arms, but that right is not unlimited. As Justice Scalia wrote:
"Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited.
Although we do not undertake an exhaustive historical analysis today of the full scope of the Second Amendment, nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms."
We are deeply grateful to all AHSA members, and the many top-ranking military officers of all our armed services who signed onto and supported AHSA's brief in this historic case.

That is pretty pathetic that someone would have an organization like that as I am sure there are plenty of people they have duped into joining them. [xx(]
Shows how little attention people pay to what is happening around them .
But here is the thing, there are lots of little groups and clubs out there that are pro gun or pro second ammendment. But they may only be pro-sporting firearms and against handguns or even just pro-shotguns and singleshot rifles only. Before you send money to any organization you should ask questions and make clear their motives. I say any organization that is only pro-sporting guns and against handguns or para-military type rifles is just as bad as the antigun organizations.
You know, being pro 2nd amendment and pro gun is a very broad term. I am pro gun. That means every gun. Assault weapons, .50cals, handguns, sporting guns, bb guns, paintball guns, rubberband guns, nerf ball guns. If it has the word GUN, I'm probably pro it... And being pro 2nd amendment, having the right to bear arms means weapons capable of use for defense. That to me, means the right to have a military type or paramilitary, or even a domestic type defensive weapons of similar nature that any law enforcement individual would carry, and even body armor. Arms... Not just guns, but the general term Arms, intented for defense... If some day someone comes out with a photon super death ray swiss army knife, and that becomes the par for which the domestic world defends with, then that to would also apply. You should never be outgunned by the bad guys.

sheesh there are a ton of anti groups--i guess they need a negative group for every positive one we have[:(]
Though, I do like the shirt.. if everyone who was anti gun would wear one, I'd know who not to even bother being friends with.
"On October 1, 2005, Florida became a more dangerous place. That's when the Shoot First Law goes into effect, giving the people of Florida the right to use deadly force as a first resort when they feel threatened, even in a public place. But the Shoot First doctrine isn't just staying in Florida - it's about to become a national disgrace." [V] [B)]
That "shoot first" law they're bit**ing about is one of the reasons I'm proud to be a Florida resident, we can keep ourselves and our families safe.
