My daughter holding an Eagle which came into the rehab center with a damaged wing. Look at the size of those talons!

Fantastic! I wouldn't want to tangle with that bad bird.
What kind of eagle is it?

It is a bald eagle, less then approximately 2 years old. It will not have a white head until then.

It is a Bald Eagle, female about 3 years old, she will have a white head usually at around 4 years old.

That's awesome. One of my 2nd or 3rd cousins was one of the handlers for the Auburn Eagle back when I was looking at schools and Dad (an AU alumni) and I went for a football game back in the 80's. That Golden was HUGE... I understand they have a Golden and a Bald Eagle now, need to ask Dad or my Brother...

Those re-hab people are some of the most dedicated people.

I used to take injured wildlife (still occasionally do) to one in the Bay City, MI area.

I could call her early morning, late evening or middle of the day and she would often meet me half way or more when I got injured wildlife. Even though I've been retired for over 6 years, I still get people that call me about injured wildlife. I had someone even bring an injured kestrel to the car dealership I work at about a year ago and she met me halfway on the way home from work to pick it up.

Tracy sent me a close up of the Eagle to post. She is a professional Photographer, hence the water marked photo.

l had an experience w/golden eagles around 0r/Cal border April 2003 shooting ground squirrels. They got very close feasting on a free meal of fresh ground squirrels. Those birds are HUGE and made me a bit uncomfortable by coming in less than 100yds of me. Really beautiful creatures who seemed not to fear a gun being fired so close to them. 17HMR is not that noisy tho.

I love the before and after pics. As parents we never know what things will influence our children, both positively and negatively. I'm sure you never dreamed that a Disney World trip would be the stimulus to start your daughter down this road. Looks to me like a good road to be going down! Thank you for the great pics!

I would like to thank everyone for your kind words.

Also a tip, if you find yourself engaged in a raptor's grip, pull up on the middle talon and it will release, doing anything else will just cause it to tighten down.
