Question about S&W frame locks - UPDATED -

I prefer revolvers WITHOUT frame locks and shy away from any that have them.
Has anyone looked into defeating the frame lock maybe by removing the internals, etc?
Would this even be possible?
UPDATE:
Thanks to forgemonkey to getting me to look a little closer into this.
Found an excellent video that explains the removal process LINK
And a guy who "makes" plugs to replace the lock on the S&W Forum.
He goes by "Bulls Eye Smith".
All the posts I seen were very positive about this guy's plugs.
A second video LINK shows the lock action and interaction with the hammer.
The guy in the first video leaves the lock cylinder in place and only removes the action lever that stops the hammer.
Removing the lock cylinder opens up the frame and will need to be "plugged"... Hence the replacement plug is needed.
OR thread the hole and use a flat head screw. [;)]

Well, there's still that hole in the frame you have to look at. I suppose a self tapping screw would take care of that.[}:)]
That's what I was thinking...
I know the lock defeats the firing mechanism if "locked".
Just not sure if the lock interacts with the firing mechanism if it's absent from the frame.
AND I don't want to destroy a $700 gun just to find out. [B)]
just refuse like i do, plenty of pre locks out there
+1 I will not own one.
Robert, there's a couple people who make plugs for the hole after removal of the ILS,,,,,
Look on the S&W forum(s) ,,,,,,,
Cool. Thanks!
So there's no issue to remove the frame lock I assume...
Uh ohhh there I go "assuming" something again. No offense. [:D]

Some models don't have pre-lock versions.
