Editorial in today's local paper.

The bill to allow college employees to carry on campus has passed the state House and is now in the state Senate. The Governor has indicated he will sign it if passed.

The newspaper ran an editorial this morning supporting the bill as common sense. It's really nice to live where the local media isn't rabidly anti-2A.

The presidents of all 13 of the state's colleges vigorously oppose the bill. I hope the end result is them being unhappy.

That is a good thing. I imagine our local paper wouldn't be so supportive of this issue.

School administration is a cliquish society. Most college presidents are descendants of the Hippies and Flower Children of the 1960s. They are liberal in the extreme. Not all, only about 95%. But if you want to rise to the top in this field you had better toe the line on liberal ideology.

Same thing happened here. All college presidents, police chief and Ada county sheriff opposed the law. They showed their true colors.

Then the college presidents wanted millions of dollars to implement the law. It was disgusting to watch.

The Governor should tell them if they don't like it they can start looking for another job that pays what they're making now [:0],...I bet they'd shut the hell up then [:D]....[;)]

Our state was considering it but the law as written would have given final authority to the college..... We all know how that would go............

And another priveleged class is created. If college employees can carry, so should students.

This is even worse than a badge allowing unrestricted carry. At least those with a badge had SOME background checks and training.

I agree. But let's take what we can get when we can get it and come back for more later, eh? After employees are carrying for a while and the sky doesn't fall then we can make the case for unrestricted carry. An "all or none" attitude is a recipe for defeat in politics.

I had a friend who works at Indiana University as a maintenance man transfer a gun through me. He told me they don't allow firearms on campus. That school would croak at the idea.

I believe it only would add to it---goes through all levels of the higher ups in education including State, County, City and larger TWP
