Hooray for Henry!

Henry Repeating Arms has just announced some new offerings, including, but not limited to,a lever-action .327 Federal magnum carbine!

I've contacted every single lever gun maker I could think of in the past couple of years requesting this exact rifle.
It's advertised as being a carbine version of the Big Boy, weighing in at one full pound less than the Big Boy.

Also being offered are a lever-action .410bore,a single-shot in both rifle and shotgun calibers, and the .327 of my dreams.

Starts shipping in March.

Always admired the quality and ingenuity of Henry.
However, the 327 was a good idea that never gained any traction. I would suggest buying one quickly as they will more than likely be discontinued shortly after.

I think the .327 is best suited to a long arm/carbine vs. pistol.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I would have a Henry lever action or two if they would just break down and put a loading gate on the receiver!!!!

The .327 magnum is very interesting though, I might just have to own one.[:)]

I would think there had to been at least a small clamor for a rifle in this caliber or they would not have gone to the cost and trouble of retooling for a completely new caliber.

I could not have been the sole person requesting these.
The .327fed/mag has taken a while to take hold, but there are numerous ammunition manufacturers producing the ammo now, and Star-Line is producing new brass fr reloading.

The .327fed/mag may never gain the popularity of the .35mag, or the .44mag, or even a .30-30, but I don't think it's going away anytime soon.

The .480 Ruger is better suited for a lever gun, in my opinion.

seems to be a big hang up of them. i have never owned a lever action so i dont know the difference. bought a 35 rem scoped it and sold it for double the money. never fired it.

Please explain. I've never seen a lever action Henry. What does it have instead of a loading gate? Just a hole?

The cartridges are loaded into the bottom of the magazine tube.

So what will you shoot with it ? Seems too big or too small

Henry lever actions are tube feed, you pull the brass insert out and load them from the muzzle end like many .22 rifles, say like a Marlin model 60 for example.

Load it hot for deer, and load it down for bunnies and tree rats.
The way factory prices are going, I can load these for less per round than I can buy factory .22mag.
