MONEY

It just occurred to me; With all the noise the media is making about Romney's
wealth, I don't recall such bluster and hand-wringing over the Kennedy
fortune. Or, for that matter, John Kerry. Or the fact that John Kerry gave
virtually nothing to charity while Romney gave something on the order of
$4 million, in addition to his entire inheritance from his
father.

Biden gave less than 1.5% of his income to charity. And Obama pays a lower tax
rate than his secretary. Buffett Rule?

Oh. Wait. I just remembered. Romney
is Republican.
Kerry and the Kennedys are
Democrats.
Also, Romney worked for his
money.
Kennedy inherited
his.
And Kerry married
his.
Obama spends yours on
vacations.

Never mind.

"Verily I say unto ye.........." Money

    It can buy a house

    But not a home

    It can buy a clock

    But not time

It can buy you a position

    But not respect

It can buy you a bed

    But not sleep

It can buy you a book
    But not knowledge

    It can buy you medicine

    But not health

    It can buy you blood

    But not life

So you see money isn't everything

And it often causes pain and suffering

With our economy going to S*#t I thought I would ask does anyone have any ideas on what would be a good business to start on a minimal investment that is still legal?

I never met a farmer that claimed to have made a profit.[:D]
    Old joke:
Two farmers were talking one day. First one asks the second, "What would you do if you won the lottery?"
Second farmer, "I don't know. I guess I'd just keep farmin' 'til the money ran out."[:D]

I'm working on a network filtering device for non-technological parents. Gonna load it up wiht a whitelist of sites from various religous groups, allow adding domains, etc. Think I'll be marketing it thru church newsletters, etc.

I've done a similar set up - web kiosks at work with limited site access, and some very good IT folks I know can't get past it.

Best is that it is all Free software, so my investment is minimal - no hardware for development, the hardware to sell is going to be about $200, and then my time, etc. Maybe a monthly subscription fee.

People have been saying that for so long but I just do not see it!

Around here everyone is spending money and still driving like crazy (even with the high gas prices).

Even me who is supporting 2 kids on a disability income by myself, I do not think the economy is that bad. Sure I have slowed down a little on driving my Bronco, but other wise I do not seem to be hurting that bad, and if it was not for the bills that my ex left me I would be doing pretty darn good.

    Liquor store
    strip club

maybe a grocery store, but I'm not sure any of these are actually cheap to start.

I work at a liquor store (at work right now actually) and you wouldn't believe how many people come in, bitching and moaning about gas prices this, economy that, but then spend hundreds of dollars and booze and cigarettes. Liquor and Tobacco are two things people will always pay for, no matter the cost in my opinion.

    Probably a pawn shop.

We have some resident experts around here that might offer some advice.

If you have good financial backing, maybe buy an apartment complex/community.

Does anyone know what the first sign of spring is? When you see a line of Mexican's walking into a pawn shop with electric heater's they used to heat their one bedroom squat. No kidding it's the first sign of spring in Baltimore and D.C.
