Just picked up a Springfield 1911A1 .45 today. Any thoughts both good and bad on this weapon would be appreciated. It has an extended mag well, ambi-safety, tritium night sights with the rear sight being adjustible, Integral locking system, full lenght guide rod[8D]

Bought one of these for my son's 21 birthday Dec. 12th. I got the Stainless model. It's been sitting on my dresser for a week now and it's killing me not to shoot it!!![}:)] I guess I'll have to try to hold out until I give it to him on Thursday[V]. Any of you own one? How well do they shoot? I know that the first mod. that he will do will be to install adjustable sight's on it!

I was going through my local gun shop's site and found a Springfield 1911A! for 400 bucks. I have one handgun right now that is a SIG p226 in 9mm. I have called gun shops around here and they said I can get 300 for my SIG and I have enough money to put out an extra hundred plus dollars for the rest of the cost. I was just wondering what your opinion is om this situation. Any opinions are welcome. Here's the link. http://www.themarksman.net/productDetail.cfm?categoryID=18&productID=318

I HAVE HAD a 1911A1 for some years now (25-30), its a keeper. always seems to shoot and feed good, it has even survived a DBL charge for some factory reloads.

first gun that got me into reloading.

I've had one for 3 or so years, maybe 600 rounds fired with no problems

Fired over 500 rounds through it yesterday. Great shooter, the only thing I didnt like was the ambi safety was too stiff, and I dont like the cut on it. Other than that it was good
