Was walking through an old cemetary today

Maybe a civil war buff can help me out....
I was out walking around campus today. I came across an old cemetary ("freshest" grave was 1910) that I had seen, but never paid much attention to.
One thing I always do when walking through a graveyard is look for veterans graves. I'll occasionally find a Civil War veteran or (once) a War of 1812 vet.
I couldn't find any U.S. soldier's graves, but I did find two Confederates.
Pvt. William Caudill (whose grave has been restored)
1st Lt. George A. Johnston.
As best I could tell, Lt. Johnston's unit was listed as "45 BN Va Infantry"
Anyone know where I could find a unit history for their organizations?

The Blue and Gray Magazine, Civil War Times or the New York Times may have more information.
VA Civil War Parks carry a series of books called "The Virginia Regimental Histories Series" which has a small volume about each unit. Contacting a Park bookstore may get the history of the 45th volume sent to you. They take VISA.
Finally you could go to Richmond and look up his military records at the Library. VA has alphabetized
