I have never purchased a gun on line before and am not sure what I have to do. How do I get the seller and the FFL dealer together and who does the back round check. Its very confusing to me.

Right on this site is a whole section just to deal with those questions, http://www.gunbroker.com/User/ToolsForBuyers.aspx

Go to Gun Broker home page and click on New Buyers. It's easier than some peoiple think and there are good buys on there.

In a nutshell...if you win the auction you have it shipped to the FFL.

Some sellers want a faxed copy of the FFL license...some just need to talk to him and get the license number so they can verify it online.

The FFL will do the back ground check when you go to pick up the fun...I mean gun.[:D]

I suggest talking to your FFL before you bid and see how he wants it done. Some will try and deal on the guns they have in stock to make a sale

All good advice. Just make sure no matter what you have a FFL on your end that will accept a firearm shipped to him, to transfer to you. Also be on the lookout for the possiblity that the seller may very well legally be a private individual, and some FFL's choose not to receive firearms shipped to them from private individuals, only firearms shipped from a FFL.

Good luck and make sure to come back here with a link to show off your new purchase.[;)]
