Sig Question P228 P229 Compatibility

I have bought a P229 in 9mm. Will the P228 mags work in there?

same gun. the 228 was in 9mm and the 229 WAS in 40. now they just make the 229 in either or 357 sig. 226 mags will also work they will just stick out of the mag well a little

Sorta the same gun. Bottom end is the same. Top end is two piece carbon VS one piece stainless slide.

Even the bottom end is different. Grip area is the same but the upper part of the 229 frame is wider.

They require different holsters.
