Zero water. The ribs a very moist. Crock pot, oven roasting bag inside, ribs, onions and favorite BBQ sauce. It won't dry out.

Will beer make them taste better? I bet that they probably would? Is it as easy as cooking a roast or chicken?

I won't eat them any other way. Put the PORK ribs in. Fill up crockpot with beer. Add chili powder, cumin powder ( for smokey taste ) Salt, black pepper, and red peppers ( pending how hot you like your ribs ). Cook till tender, remove and put on grill or oven on a cookie sheet. Put on BBQ sauce and leave in oven 5-7 min a side till glazed at 400 degree

I always roast the short ribs on a bed of grey coals while I'm butchering. If I cook ribs in the house I put them in tinfoil and add greenchilies and a onion and cook at about 200 for a few hours.Never tried in a crockpot, but maybe I'll get one and try it

I have the pork short ribs on. I got a package of onion soup mix, some purple onions on the bottom of the pot (a few.) I also poured some bbq sauce over it. We shall see!

That ought to do it. My crock pot is an old original one. The only thing I would change is to get a bigger one.

We went to a church event a couple of years ago and saw a crock pot with a lid that had a gasket on it and clamps on the lid. So, you cook, clamp the lid and travel to your destination with little fear of spillage! I usually use just an older cheap one, but that clamped on lid one is grand!

So cook em for about 12 hours for "falling off the bone?

Our crock pot seems to have went by the wayside. I haven't seen one around here for years. I read all this yesterday and told my wife we would have a crock pot by next weekend.

and dont forget those crock pot bags,,makes clean up easier and it keeps the inside of the crock pot looking like new.

if you put onions into a crockpot that produces alot of moisture so u need very little water..unless you use a sauce then u dont need any water...i have two crockpots they have timers and when the timers goes off it goes to the warm control,,and one of them has a case that i put the crockpot in and carry it where i need to go

The taste was as good as the smell. I had a green salad and a baked potato with a jus from the BBQ ribs. All I need to complete the day is a bottle of beer and to get laid.[:D]

My 18 year old Daughter is having a graduation party next month, and she has asked me to BBQ for her. I am planning on smoking a box of pork ribs, and about four beef briskets. I will have to start the smokers around 4:am to have them ready around 2:pm. I don't grill over direct heat; I do a typical BBQ over indirect heat. Low & slow is the method I use. The temperature never rises above 225 degrees, and I usually smoke the meat for 8 to 12 hours. The only thing I put on the ribs prior to putting them in my smoker is a hand made rub that I learned how to make from a friend back in Texas who used to win a lot of BBQ cook off contest. The Briskets will soak in a marinade over night, and also receive a rub prior to be placed in the smoker. I do add a slight brushing of a home made BBQ sauce to the ribs about 5 to 10 minutes before pulling them out for consumption. This method of cooking has never failed to make the Yankees up here rant & rave about the taste, and they always come back for seconds. But, no matter what they say, it is the beans I make that I personally feel are the best, and I'll take that recipe with me to the grave. Anyone up this way on 12 June is more then welcome to stop in and give them a try.[8D]

12 hours? We cook ours in the crock pot for about 5 hours, and they are nearly mush! 5 hours is more than enough for what we have.

Try using just ONE bottle of GUINNESS STOUT, or a VERY DARK PORTER.
    The gravy will be "OUTTA-THIS-WORLD"!![:p][:p][;)]
