1999 Arctic Cat 300 4x4 problem high gear

Guy wants to trade me it. Wants around 750 in trade value. Says it runs in all 5 gears and reverse when its in low gear but said it almost acts like its locked up when in high gear. Any ideas on what could be wrong and rough idea on cost to get it fixed.
