Interesting cartridge. .223 case cut down, necked to .22 caliber with overall length short enough to feed through a normal 1911 9mm action. Customer ordered one, and loves it.
2100 FPS with a 40 grain bullet out of a 5" barrel. The Rock Island Armory 1911A2 is a wide body, and the magazine holds 18 rounds.
It makes a heap more sense than that silly 5.7 FN round.

BTW, the customer says the recoil is negligible, so the gun is very controllable for follow-up shots, but the muzzle blast is brutal.

If it catches on, I figure dies and reloading data will become available.
I would like to see how this round performs on a 9mm carbine platform.
Once the dies are available I think I will get one. If not sooner. Sounds like a fun shooter.
