you should really look into drip emitters and silver mulch, you will never have to weed it, and uses less water

We used to use drip in the pecan groves. I have thousands of feet of drip available. Do not like it. We have gone to micro jets. If I could figre how to use them in my garden, I would. Don

drip tape is different than the drip hose we use and have changed out on 80% of our groves. Tape is not as accurate as drip with emitters. However, with my garden, drip is not an option. I am not being an *, but irrigation is something I do everyday. I am putting in a system right now that goes from 8" pipe down to 2".

I do know irrigation and how it works. Thanks for the info. Don

How many hours of direct sun are you getting with all those trees? Growing up my childhood home had perfect sunlight for tomatoes, direct sun for about 11 hours a day in the summer. Now I only have about 5 hours a day, and each year it's a little less as the trees get taller.

I plant north to south rows around theses trees. The sun is optimal. Also, the potatos that are under the trees, will be done by the time the leaves are fully out. The I will go back with something that needs some shade. Don
