We are experiencing enough wind now to deposit small limbs and leaves in the road and some rain. There are a bunch of power trucks parked in the Walmart near me with crews sitting in the cabs. I hope they don?t have to set there for too long. The rescue squad headquarters is packed with cars. So far so good. [:)]

With the storms and tornado warnings last night the football game was cancelled. Parents' night may be rescheduled to next Tuesday's conference championship game. At least the weather forecast is for no rain that day.

Not much damage here except to the Wallie World Supercenter. Glad I don't have to get anything from there. This will probably put some folks in a panic. [:I]

The fireman training center in south Arkansas (Camden)was blown away last night and there are about 11,000 people without power. To top that all off we have flash flood warnings throughout the state. We are at 25 inches above normal for the year and still have two months to go.

At least this should have all the leaves knocked off the trees in time for opening day-Missouri Deer Hunt-14 Nov, can barely wait.

From what I seen it looks like its going to be a wet and windy weekend. The Eye is supposed to track North of Wilmington more toward Jacksonville then head SE toward Columbia, stall and sit on top of Fayetteville.

That's one of those hurry up and wait jobs. Once the SHTF they'll be earning their pay and they're worth every penny of it and then some.

I bet a few pizza's and some bottles of water, and you won't have to worry about who's power goes on first[;)][:D]. Seriously though, When Sandy hit us, we all opened our homes to crews from out of state, to use the bathrooms, get something to eat or drink, or lay their heads down for a few hours. The crew that worked on our power lines were from NC. Those guys were fantastic. We cooked them hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and let them use our home for a rest stop. They were very grateful.

Don't worry Anheuser Busch is sending 300,000 cans to help storm victims.

    Unfortunately it's water. [:D]

I remember miller doing that years ago here in west virginia after some flooding, put it in those clear quart bottles..... you would have thought driving around nobody did anything but drink beer, they still used miller boxes and passed it out by the case...[;)] there were stacks of miller boxes everywhere

The weather people on TV looked very disappointed that the storm came ashore as a cat. 1 instead of a cat.5 or even higher if it were possible. They get so excited when they think there's going to be thousands of people missing and dead.

So How is Camp Lejune Holding out. Know Mainside would not be bad But where I was always out in Courthouse bay that is right at the waters edge. A light storm brought flooding there.

It is for some people...over 40" of rain in two days...some areas with a storm surge of 10' and it's still early, this thing still has hours in the same spot of Topsail beach. The Cape Fear river is at it's highest recorded levels, and has peaked yet. There is likely to be quite a bit of destruction for coastal NC, and quite a bit of inland flooding.

We start feeling the effects of tropical storm Florence today....on Monday they were predicting massive flooding in this area, thankfully she shifted to the west. We will still have flood in our flood prone areas but nothing like we would if we had 18" of rain dumped on us. Corp of Engineers dropped the level of one of big local lakes 3' in anticipation of this event. Looks like maybe our vacation rental in N. Myrtle will survive as well, seems like NC took the brunt of this lady when she came ashore.
