I've researched the republican field a lot and this fellow stands out among the rest. I wonder why he isn't higher in the polls?

He comes across level headed, but for some reason it seems apparent that the GOP establishment don't care for him. He's probably not a war hawk, and his method for balancing the budget probably does not fit with their spending habits.
    What's next?

He comes off too liberal for hard core republicans...I lean left of center but he is a republican I could vote for[:D]

He is a OK governor; I would never vote for him as POTUS. He is too willing to give in on principles and would sit and have lunch with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to discuss more Obamacare.

He is looking for a VP position at this point. It would assure a (R) win for Ohio, except for my vote.

When he gets wound up he sounds like the typical Rhino politician. He continually comments his father was a mailman, being he brags up something like eighteen years balancing the budget in US Congress it pretty much makes all his meals and living have been Government

Kasich has classic windmill principles. He is for whatever way the wind is blowing.

He has been a progressive accomplice of the democrats during his career in the public sector. A career that began as soon as he got the ubiquitous Poli-Sci degree, and continued right up until he got himself a nice lucrative position with Lehman Brothers. A lifelong public trough feeder. There are plenty of those in every government office in the country. I see no reason to put one in the WH.

Oh, and if you look at the list of republican dirtbags who voted for the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban, you will find John the Scum listed.

Other than that? Great candidate...for Commander of Sheep.

He's like Bush, they both have excellent Governorship records but neither shows any fire pursuing the Presidency, both look as tired and worn out as Bernie Sanders. Americans look for signs of "freshness" not experience.......just saying [;)]

Supports banning assault weapons. Supports handgun waiting periods. Probably supports other gun control ideas. I would not vote for him under any circumstance. If my choice was him or a Democrat I either don't vote or I vote for the Democrat because I won't reward anti-gun Republicans.

A good many of us could do the same thing if given the financial aid he had, with money comes power and it takes both ingredients working together......he had both [;)]

I think he is the only electable option for the Republican Party.

Which probably means he'll never get the nod.

If electing a Republican requires having a candidate virtually indistinguishable from a democrat, what exactly is gained?

I'm still of the same mind frame as when this lastest circus of weasels began . I have not left out Rand Paul.

The best of the bunch imo ,but it dosn't look good for him. For one thing he is not a media darling.

    Exactly...

Since there hasn't been an attempt to elect a conservative since Reagan exactly how can someone say that a conservative is not electable? I happen to believe that the majority of voting Americans are starving for a conservative option.
