They don't need their guns on campus. There are signs that prohibit such possession. No criminals will be there endangering the students since the criminals won't want to come on campus without their guns. Right? Really, that was the logic presented by the President at two colleges in the Reno area where I requested permission to carry on campus. People with logic skills like that are running our colleges. [xx(]

The President of UNR has granted a waiver to carry only once, to my knowledge. That was to a female student AFTER she had been kidnapped and raped by a man who was subsequently captured and convicted of raping and murdering another student. The conditions of the approval was that she had to keep it secret from everyone else. She did, at least until after she graduated and left the campus. In NV, a college President or a school principle can issue a waiver to the law prohibiting campus carry. They SELDOM ever do. It looks like you have to survive a kidnapping and rape before they think you deserve to exercise your rights to self defense. That's a WHOLE lot like locking the barn AFTER the horses got out. I carried while attending IUPUI (Indy campus) and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. I researched university policies very thoroughly and did not find any rule against it.

Im a VT grad, class of 07, I was pretty lucky, I left the building less than 10 min before it all started. I had a classmate who tried to stop the guy...took several rounds to the chest and arm while trying to stop the guy, I only imagine would could have been if he had might have had a pistol tucked in his pants that day.

That was a simple yes for my vote.
