Charlottesville: Militia had 'better' guns

Interesting. [^]

"It's easy to criticize, but I can tell you this, 80% of the people here had semiautomatic weapons," McAuliffe said.

You saw the militia walking down the street, you would have thought they were an army ... I was just talking to the State Police upstairs; [the militia members] had better equipment than our State Police had," McAuliffe said. "And yet not a shot was fired, zero property damage."

At about 10 a.m. today, at one of countless such confrontations, an angry mob of white supremacists formed a battle line across from a group of counter-protesters, many of them older and gray-haired, who had gathered near a church parking lot. On command from their leader, the young men charged and pummeled their ideological foes with abandon. One woman was hurled to the pavement, and the blood from her bruised head was instantly visible.

Yeah McAuliffe is a shameful POS. The VSP is disputing the Governor's claim. My Chief retired with 30 years from the VSP and he too is wondering why they didn't act on Saturday. Why wasn't their any arrests? This is what their Tactical Field Force trains to do, go into hostile crowds and arrest the agitators and most violent.

There were so many crimes occurring apparently they were overwhelmed.

Sounds like it's just more fake news from the establishment type politicians. Who does that surprise?

I would like to know more about these militia men, though. How many there were, where they were from, etc. It sounds like this country needs a lot more men like them.

    Thanks for the link!

Fake news? Certainly, George Soros a known left wing extremist owns the media. State and local police have the best equipment.
    "What is truth?'

I'm trying to understand what went on there, but it's difficult. I heard Signer & McAuliffe blame it all on the ACLU. They claim that the ACLU went to federal court, & the court prohibited them from moving the original demonstration to a park outside of town. The ACLU denies that, & I see no evidence of a court order of any kind.

From where I'm sitting, this looks like McAuliffe & Signer set up the demonstrators for violence, then pulled out the police. I'm guessing the plan was: "Let all the outside agitators beat up each other." They failed to see the possibility that the plan could result in dead LEO's.

What poor leadership. These clowns are worse than those in Maryland.

Yes, that is the sad part of the whole event, and I hope that pressure is brought to bear on them unmercifully so.

When militia shows up with armored vehicles, I'll believe they are better armed than the state police.

Exactly. At times it is hard to believe that our police are any different from our military.

I have never been to a protest.

I work and when I am not working I would rather be on the lake or river, or in the woods.

    Go figure

Maybe the protestors need jobs and hobbies
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Yes, there are so many facets to their hypocrisy. Crying foul of 80% of the white supremacists being armed with semi-autos yet not a single person was shot. We're there armed "militia" types? Yes there were, and yet not a single person got shot. Some were sporting thin blue line and Oath Keeper patches. The police are too militarized, now their not militarized enough. The ACLU backs Kessler on his protest permit location and wins, so the left goes after the ACLU...Funny the ACLU is not supposed to exist soley for the left agenda, it is supposed to exist to protect and advocate civil liberties...changing the location of the rally would have changed noting, the "alt left" would have shown up and attacked the "alt right" where ever they met..There was not effort made to keep the protesters separated, instead some witness accounts are that once forced out of the park the "alt right" protesters were funneled directly into the "alt left" protesters. Reports that police were ordered not to make any arrests, funny no arrests were made in this entire event, except the homicide. Reports that the girl that was killed, actually ran up behind the car and was int he process of attacking the car with a baseball bat when he threw it in reverse and pinned her between the car and a parked vehicle crushing her. Nope, can't consider that she participated in her own death, she was just walking home from the library coincidentally into a riot.

The left who hate the police co-opting the deaths of these two Pilot Troopers and reporting it as though they died in the riots. If they hadn't been flying over the rally they'd have been flying elsewhere. Initial witness reports indicate the tail rotor failed and the the helicopter rotated out of control. That could have happened anywhere. bless those trooper's families, pisses me off that they are being used as material for the left.

Once again Trump shines. Yesterdays NEWS conference where he finally said the truth was glorious. F$#% the left, they will not be satisfied so just tell the truth Trump. Pretty soon someone is going to jerk down a MLK statue or the Arthur Ash statue in Richmond....then they'll know the feeling.
