The cheating was a symptom

When VW cheated on the EPA emissions for diesel cars it showed a symptom of a busted out of control EPA.

The cheating was wrong VW must and will pay a heavy price for it.

That is not the root issue.

The root issue is a EPA with its head so far up environmentalists butt it can't see daylight. Diesel cars produce lower total emissions than gas cars because they score a 25% or greater increase in fuel mileage.

Diesel requires less refining, is available worldwide and needs to be used in cars more often. Diesel is the choice in Europe, it should be here too.

I hope Trumps team uses a chainsaw powered by a two stroke motor to gut the EPA and stop its regulatory insanity that costs Americans untold billions of dollars for little to no gain. Then he can head ovr to the FAA and gut that nightmare monster too.

I couldn't agree more. Almost all those alphabet agencies need to be gutted. Any regulations they want to make should have to be passed by congress, as the have the rule of law anyway.

I agree, gut them all. We were much better off when the big oil, coal financial, etc companies ran everything with no government interference....

What? Everyone that has tried to start or run a business knows there is no such thing as too much government oversight and regulation.

The fuel mileage increase is pretty case specific, don't you think?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

not according to what I can find.

Fuel use efficiency is the name of the game, the diesel wins over all gasoline engines.

If I were Trump I'd call the heads of all those agencies in and give them each a new $1 bill. Then I'd tell them that was their budget for the year and to spend it wisely.Dave

The EPA tail has been wagging the manufacturing dog to damn long under 8 years of a DEMOCRAT president.

Just sit back and watch the DJT hammer fall.

I never did understand how a diesel that got better mileage than a similar gas burner was somehow "dirtier". All I own is diesels, all of em are pre 2006 EPA regs. They are reliable and will last forever.
