Well my wife just got back with him from the vet. We were out of town most of last week and Zeke was staying with our daughter. He had lost some weight but we thought it was due to the excitement with her dog and not being home.

We changed up his food a few times this week to get him to eat but it would only work a day or part of a day, she got him into the vet this afternoon and they aren't sure what it is. Ran a few tests and ruled out a few things, sent some meds home and want him back Monday. A little bloated and tired now, but he was out all day with my wife cleaning gardens. Had trouble getting him to take the meds via cheese or the usual pepperoni, finally took it with some venison from last night, that he he was all over this morning from the left overs...not feeling good about this. Especially since we think we don't want the new puppy or used dog cure anymore... More to follow...

wish they could tell us what is wrong. We had a Lab that started to mope around. We figured she was just exhausted from running around all day. This carried on for days. Not eating and whining. I finally took her to the vet. She ended up having terminal uterus cancer. I had to put her down. Sometimes you can tell when something is wrong and sometimes you can't. Hope you little guy gets better. Oakie

Hoping for the best for your buddy.
Have a coworker whose dog was sick when they came back from a trip.
Turns out, she had eaten slug pellets from the neighbor's yard while they were dog sitting.
Took a few days but the dog recovered with no lasting effects.
    Arrivederci gigi

The worry of not knowing can be worse than the problem. I hate that sinking feeling in the stomach and the knot in the throat. If I had words of wisdom I'd pass them on to you, but the only thing I know to do is suffer through the waiting for word from the Vet.

I'm hoping you get some good news on Monday. There are problems and heartbreak in having a dog, but to me the emptiness of not having a dog is worse. Our best to you and Zeke.

Thanks guys. Yeah James I guess thats it not knowing. But you just went through it too.

On the plus side he was out in the barn with me and watched me swap the mower deck for the snow hitch, picked up his hollow soft rubber 'kettle ball' like usual when I moved the gator out to give myself more maneuvering room. Still only eating a little boiled chicken and had to give him the pills we got Friday in yogurt.

As you know, not looking forward to the vet trip.

I lost one good dog because of that Chinese poison dog food a couple years ago. watch out for that stuff. We couldn't figure out what was wrong with her until it was too late.

I will be making that trip this morning with our Basenji mix Emme Lou. Emergency vet discovered bone cancer in her leg and and spots on her lung lastnight. We will have to let her go to the Rainbow Bridge today. Everytime is heart breaking.

Sorry to hear that. One of the hardest trips I ever made

Yep, hard to look at her on the dog bed knowing I'll be burying her later today.
