Its a 1995 John Deere 670 4wd diesel with 412 hours. Has 60" deck and rear blade and has been garage kept. Neighbor said I could have it all for 6k. Here are daylight photos, it has a 3 pt hitch and hydralics for a front bucket. He also said he added some type of pto connection for $1800 that allows a hook up of a wood splitter.
Thanks everyone for your input, He took 5500 and I bought it. Its not for my lawn but for the hunting cabin about 45 min away. some of the hills were getting a little scary for me and the old 2wd JD 400. Thanks again. Todd

Maybe Cowdoc will come along, but you could always ask a John Deere dealer.
670 is the smallest of that series. So it's not much useful except lawn mowing.
Looks like the guy didn't like breathing the exhaust so he raised it up with that pipe.
I think it is a little high, but in comparison, what would a good 500 series lawn and garden tractor cost with a 60" deck? Probably around 6k. Maybe more.
I'm sure you can get a better price on a different one or the Ebay one but are you going to be able to test it and look at it in person. What about shipping for the one on Ebay. And in the future if you have questions on what's been done to it you have the last owner right there to ask.
Like I said I think it may cost more, but your saving in shipping and you can give the thing a real test drive and have all you question answered now and in the future. And if your looking to dump a junk tractor would you dump it off on your neighbor?
Wholesale value on a 670 with 4wd and 60" mower is $4,699.00
That is with an average of 4690hrs. The allowance for hours is $.60 per hour.
It is 18.5hp with a gear drive. It is a nice looking tractor.
Retail price on that tractor is $6,200.00 plus you can add for the low hours, but you will not want to allow a lot for the low hours because there are several of these small tractors with low hours on them.
They will all have 3 point on them, and unless you have a hydraulic splitter or some other need for a pump, it is not worth much.
It is not a great deal, but not an unfair price for what he has either.
Good luck,
Mike
That ones does not appear to be hydrostatic. It does have a CAT 1 three point hitch which means that a ton of implements can be got for it as long as they are within the HP rating of the tractor. You do not want to put a 6' King Cutter roto tiller on the back of it when the engine and drive line can only handle a 4 foot one.
It is worth six grand easy if, like I said it was taken care of.
I would say that he had a live PTO installed that allows the PTO to run while no one is on the tractor.
If you grab it and decide to get a brush hog later on. Dont forget to pick up a PTO overrun clutch also. For it can save you a large repair should the blade hit something solid. PTO overrun clutches are a good idea with anything really that uses a shaft to drive it.
Offer him $5000.00 if he says no. Then hand him the full six grand and take it.
It maybe high, but if it was me it already be in my driveway. It looks well care for and that's a classic look.

She thinks my tractors' sexy ...
Now go to www.weekendfreedommachines.com/ and ask questions about reliability and serviceability for that model.
They are geared toward smaller tractors but someone on there will either have or have owned a 600 series.(or steer you to a forum for baby tractors)
It's GREEN! Ain't that enough? [8D]

Priceless. You can give it to me. Give me your addy and I'll be there with a trailer and truck in a couple of days.[:D][:D][:D]
The hell you will, that's my trailer you're talking about. Besides the truck that can pull the trailer is in ND. The other two trucks either don't have the right trailer hitch or don't have enough power.
I think it's a good deal with all the extras...
Could very well be worth 6 grand since it has 4WD and the wieght bracket in front. It's kinda low hours for it's age too. It also looks as if it has the hydraulic couplers for a bucket loader.
Maybe Cowdoc will come along, but you could always ask a John Deere dealer.
sounds like a good price thats considering what they get for little lawn tractors that you can only mow with.. but i know very little about little tractor prices.

I have a 4' tiller to put on it, It has a place for a small bucket in front, The rear blade will be great on the 400' driveway. This is perfect for my little slice of land with a 200' X 100' feed plot.
Good Luck,
Mike
