Hope this one isn't across the line here; looking at Mr. Perfect's siglines here, and I didn't see THE [PERFECT] verse:
"Put up again thy sword into his place; ..."
IMO, there's no debate about pro-/anti-sidearm position of Jesus Christ. KJV Mt 26:52.
What's remarkable is His use of the PERSONAL poss. pronoun, referencing the sword.
The debate? Is the sidearm a PART of you? Or is the sidearm your 'PARTNER'? Or both???????

This is a English language thread...not religious.
Furthermore, the verse in its context suggests that those that use of the sword (or whatever weapon) will die by the sword. While you may see that as the ultimate verse for sword/gun use, I think many would argue otherwise.
I lean on Ecc 3:1 and 3:8. There is a time for peace and a time for war. If you look at the entire context of the cited passage Mat 26:52, it suggests that it is not a time for war. Of course that is not to suggest there are never times for it.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Hope your thanksgiving plan is still intact, I'm sure the stogie on the deck will help this pass![:)]
