Did you stop on the way home to buy some clean underwear?
A long, slightly bent piece of rebar however, will go right through everything like a javelin.
Glad you're ok.
Glad you two are OK.

Had the rack from a stake bed truck fall off that was a great Ramp to jump my Bike from. Jumping a 750 Suzuki with windshield and bags is not fun.
Go buy a dozen lottery tickets, quick, it is your lucky day.
All I could do was lift mu feet up and let off the gas.No time to even brake.
The front tire went over and it kicked-up under the bike and knocked the kickstand spring off. That immediately shut the engine down.
(bike had a safety sw that wouldn't let U put it in gear with the stand down)
I tied it up with a shoestring and went on home.
So glad U and u'r wife made it thru that ok Roger...REAL LUCKY BREAK there man!!!
A few years back, I was behind a primered '68 Firebird at a stoplight. When the light changed, he laid rubber out like he was on a drag strip.
I drive fast too, so I was pretty close behind him when all of a sudden, the hood departed his vehicle. It seemed like slow motion as it went straight up and reached a height of about 30 feet right above the roadway.
I punched it and flew under it as it was coming down right in the middle of the highway. Fortunately, no car was under it impacted the ground.
Driving requires your full attention.
There is no way that could be called an accident. It was pure premeditated carelessness. People who fail to secure their load and cause damage or injure or kill people should be charged criminally.
The load should always be secured, if for no other reason than plywood is expensive.
First time south if Indy. Following a semi in traffic, a large valve body came out from under the semi and I didn't have his ground clearance. Put on the brakes to slow down and decided to take it head on vs swerve in traffic and risk hitting it with a a wheel or two. It totaled the car, but we stayed upright and drove a mile or two to the next exitt losing fluids and unable to shift. Police found the flatbed that lost it as a part of a larger assembly.
Second time was on the bike coming into Milwaukee on the way back from Sturgis. Some one dropped a round igloo cooler, rolling towards me, swerved on the bike to miss that one, took a half hour to smooth the pucker out of my seat when I washed the bike.
Third time was nearing the Illinois line coming out of Milwaukee. In the car and had a semi flip up a nearly whole retread. Hit the hood, cracked the windshield and then up and over it went.
If the first or last had been on the bike...no more posting, guess my time wasn't up yet!
