DVD copy question

I have copied several tapes from my Sony MiniDV camcorder unto my computer. Edited them, added some subtitles and what not. When I copy the saved file to a DVD using "Window's Movie Maker" they will play on another computer, but not on a regular DVD player. I am using HP LightScribe DVD+R's to record to. What am I doing wrong?

Check to make sure what format you are making the file as. If it is an AVI that will not play on most DVD players.

bingo. its more than likely a formatting issue. you need to burn the movies in a format compatible with a dvd player.
1 word--- NERO
This is the way to go. I have Nero on my comp and my 7 yo granddaughter burns everything she can to disk. Nero is about the simplest program you can get.
