My next project...

Bagged this on the auction side. I love the Remington 30s and have two already. This one has a very low serial (122) and I am picturing a Mannlicher style stock on the 24" barrel and the gun rechambered for 300 H&H Magnum. It has already been modified for mounts and sights and the stock has extra holes drilled in it so it has no collector value at this point.

Nice. I hope you post pictures showing the process.
My dad used to "sporterize" 3-4 rifles a year when I was a kid in the 60's. He made some beautiful stocks. and I only have one..........Yup, it's pretty much a full length Mannlicher! Not the best picture...

    Doc,

Just a bit of history - this action or its precursor, the Enfield 17, was Joe Pfeifer's action of choice for building the proprietary .300 H&H Pfeifer Imp.

[Std .300 H&H with a 30 degree shoulder and 10% plus gain in velocity.]

    Excellent and accurate round!!! [;)]

I've got one (m-1917 w/ upgrades) in .300 H&H IMP., you can shoot ANY .300 belted mag. in it. I make brass by fire-forming .300 weatherby's.

When are you going to show the next gun safe purchase? At the rate you are buying they are filling up unless you have a room made.

Sounds like a fun project. Makes me wish I hadn't sold my 720 for what I did.
