Been really wanting a mom-and-pop fast food type hamburger...
Anyway looking through the internet I'm found a place, and was wondering kind of food they had.
So I was looking through their menu and saw a halibut basket. Which is in essence fish and chips. I thought that sounded interesting until I read their description...
Halibut Fish Basket $10.99
3 pieces of beer battered cod with tartar sauce & lemon
Since when has Cod been considered halibut???
You don't believe me? Look it up on the on the internet. Here's a link to their menu where I saw it. Just scroll down to baskets, and it's the first listing

I Don't think I'm going to eat here, the place seems to Liberal to me. They can't even call Cod Cod, they have to be PC and call it halibut[V]

Unlikely to be halibut if it's only 11 bucks.

Both are good there but the Halibut is what I like.
Just check the prices of the two here.

I agree, they are both good. And I do prefer halibut be also,
But if a place is going to advertise halibut fish and chips, then it damn sure better not be made of Cod. And that's the point of this thread, they were advertising halibut fish and chips, but serving Cod...[V][V][V]
Cod is widely used as a base fish in many fine establishments serving coated and fried filet's. Most places will even brag about it being Cod. A few bad joints sell the cheap Tilapia [xx(] under a false name.
They do this just for the "Halibut" [:0][:D]
Don't let the false menu advertisement "flounder" you Remmy!

And they swap Swai for Tilapia aaaaack, I can eat Tilapia, but Swai is so horrible I wouldn't feed it to the cats.
When I can find fresh Cod Fish I will make it myself using LJS copy cat batter...sprinkle with a little malt vinegar and I can't tell the difference.

It's not that I don't like fish sticks made of cod. I just prefer them to be made out of Halibut.
The point of this thread is the fact that they advertise it as halibut, but serve cod... That's what tees me off.
where I live we have a place called Skippers that specializes in fish and chips. And you can get either Cod or halibut fish and chips, beer battered or not. But anybody that has ate either one knows the difference between the two.
Now mind you, I probably would have went in there and ate their fish and chips even though it was cod if they have not advertised as halibut. But they had to false advertisement, so I will never eat anythingg there because of that. if you can't trust what they advertise, how can you trust anything else...
