Calling the 6.5x55 a high speed, flat shooting cartridge is ridiculous.
140gr bullet at 2600fps.
Would not mind shooting it.
Personally I sorta like this[:p]
I like the little giggle back there[:0]

Nice looking rifle, too bad BUBBA had to SCRATCH his Social on the rifle....[V][V][V][V][V]
I love the Swedish rifles and I would love to have one of those.
I see the video guy has a good stockpile of that high quality Swede milsurp ammo. Match grade accurate and non corrosive.
The SN is not "SCRATCHED". It was put there by the inspector. All AG42B's have this inspection verification.
The one listed is a little "pricey". Those I've seen lately go for about 8-8 fifty.
It is very much like the Hakim.
The 42 was made in 6.5 only, the Hakim was only produced in 8mm. The FN 49 was the one produced in several calibers.
It IS a flat shooting round compared to most WW2 era .30s, but I wouldn't call it such by today's standards.
I never particularly cared for it. I don't have a 42, though I have shot one. I do have a Hakim. Just because it lacks a normal bolt. If you sit behind one and pull the trigger, the gas concussion is rather unpleasant due to the design, the bolt does NOT allow single loading in any normal fashion, and operation of said bolt is... scary. If you thought the M1 could damage a thumb, try 42 or Hakim thumb. Let's put it this way. One bruises and you cuss and maybe have to put on a bandaid. One tears off the thumbnail and you have to get stitches. Ask how I know.
The Ljungman design is not reloader friendly. When it tosses brass forward and to the right, it usually destroys the case mouth no matter how much you play with the gas adjustment. Best find Berdan surplus.
Despite problems, you get good MOA groups providing you use period weight bullets.
