I don't know what gave me this stiffness and pain in the neck. It's been excruciating all day. Tylenol doesn't help. Can't hardly turn my head sideways. To look around I have to turn my whole upper body. I know there's nothing anyone here can do about it but just thought I'd share my misery with y'all. [:(]

And I figure it should be good for at least a few smart * comments.

20 minutes- look for books at the library
    20 minutes- eat tacos
20 minutes- watch a tennis match

    that'll loosen it up

Must be because of that ugly growth on the top of your neck![:p]

I've got a bad neck. Bothers me all the freakin' time. Nothing drug wise really works.

But like Patrick Swayze said in Roadhouse, "Pain don't hurt."

Pain is just weakness, leaving your body.

I woke up one morning like that, the pain was unbearable. Went directly to the ER. They gave me a shot and minutes later I was fine.

    Find a good chiropractor.
My chiropractor fixed just such a pain in my neck, two weeks ago.
Two visits in one week, problem gone.

If you can hardly turn your head, you probably need a med
to loosen up your muscles, a quiet down your nerve endings.
Flexeral or valium. Try some moist heat packs and lie down
without a big pillow, just a sheet or something folded beneath
your head. Put a big towel in the microwave, moistened with
water for about a minute, wrap it in plastic baggie, then
cover it with another towel. Careful it will be really hot.
Don't burn yourself. The plastic will hold in the heat for
quite awhile. Hope your better soon.[:(]

I read an article on Fox Health News that stated you should NEVER let a chiropractor adjust you above the shoulders, as it can lead to a stroke or heart attack...seems that small blood vessels can get torn and can lead to strokes days after an adjustment. I have not had a chiropractor adjust my neck ever since...

    I don't use chiropractors.

But...I have a great physical therapist.

I didn't go for the meds but the heat packs have helped. Still not 100% but much better today. Thanks for the advice. [;)]

Do you do house calls?? [:D]
