Regardless of race, don't attack an armed person and put them in reasonable fear for their safety, cop or not. It's that damn simple. These idiots protesting refuse to stop and think that this "man" put himself into this position by breaking the law and physically attacking an armed police officer. JUST BECAUSE ONE IS NOT "ARMED" DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE NOT A THREAT!!!!!

You would think that with all the blacks being shot by cops, black youths would possibly get the idea that it might be a good idea to be polite and follow the instructions of a cop with a badge and a gun who may possibly kill him if he does something stupid like attacking the cop. Goes back to the fact that you can't fix stupid.

Yes Sir, if a violently resisting suspect puts an officer in a position that they feel they are losing a physical confrontation then that officer, if they have any survival instincts, is going to resort to deadly force inorder to end the confrontation. Too many officers have been killed with their own guns over the years, and it has been drilled in police recruits heads so once they recognize they are losing, if wise are going to end it before it gets out of hand.

I would like to know who, in the police world, thought screaming at people was a good idea especially when 3 or 4 are screaming different COMMANDS.
As Teddy said "speak softly" they already carry the BIG stick.

I think most people respond to a request far better than a command. The raised voice has its place, but initial encounter isn't that place IMHO.

Obama and Holder are causing this problem with their attitude Blacks can do nothing wrong. Many Black Families live in fear from other blacks with people that are out of control and thinking our current officials will support their actions[xx(][V]

Really? And let some woman (or man) get beaten or worse by an abusive spouse/significant other? They put on that uniform to try and help folks that may not be in a position to help themselves out of a tough spot. Not responding will simply allow the doers of bad deeds a free pass.
If you don't want to get shot, don't attack the cop. It's really that simple.

while I totally agree that maybe you should try a softer voice, SOME just don't get it, and these hoods, Just don't get it. It is the way they were raised.[:(!] Oakie

You respond in kind. I have been on the scene where an officer's initial contact sounds like he's leading a charge up Bunker Hill. I give the other party plenty of time to vent, stay above their level because once you step onto their level there is no turning back. You either put up at that point or shut up. I know God has my back because in over 40 years I have never had a knock down drag out encounter. People are people and regardless of what King Obama, Al Sharpton, or Eric Holder say, we all have emotions and hearts that beat the same. Treat people like you want to be treated. My business card has this on it; Romans 13: 2,3,4. For the record even though I vent at times, my God is color blind.

I agree dont attack a cop, you do you reap the consequences, some disputes happen time and time and time again..same people same address...is what i meant....had it been a white guy he would have been shot too but the headline would not be white teen shot my cop , if there even was a headline....

bet sharpton is on his way as we speak....thats how he makes a living, other peoples misory

Really? I thought that the perp was peacefully sitting in his house reading the bible when jack booted thugs broke down his door shot his dog and then shot him.

    Must'a been some other dude!

There's no solving any problem unless you properly identify it.
If the objective is to buy peace, that's something else entirely.
Accepting mass criminal and antisocial behavior because you can't handle it is a travesty.

Colin Powell said it correct: Young black men should respect police and don't do any thing to get shot! But report any incidence that could be made out harmful to them.[;)]

When I was a young kid I figured out pretty quick that the best thing to do was to avoid a physical fight if at all possible. If that failed, the next best thing to do was to end the fight before the other guy had a chance to hurt me. That's basically what most of these cops are doing. One added complication to being a cop is that you can't allow someone to injure another person. Glad I am not a cop.
