Bought some more land

Always been able to walk outside my house & shoot anytime I wanted. The farmland next to me has a pond & trees on it near my house, would make a nice acreage house site.
I have told the guy that owns it that I would like to buy that area if he wanted o sell. This has been discussed for 5 yrs or so.
Last Jan. He decided to sell the whole farm. Finally made a deal with him to buy the 11 acres where the pond is.
would make a great building site but d't want a neighbor that close. Would more than likely be someone anti gun. That problem solved. Keep shootin'.

well done...have worked all my life to acquire some ground and now have sold the most productive, irrigated with the lowest water right around...can't work that way any more and feel odd selling..but it's for the best ...been debt free for 20 years and now getting a few toys

The wife & I are really glad we got it done. Paid more than I wanted to. I culd only see a fight starting with a new neighbor.
My closest neighbor on the other side of the road told me to get it bought at all cost & he would go in on it with me because he didn't want a house there either. Got it done without his help.

I have 25 acres but I wish I had 100 or more, you can't go wrong with land.

Heck even if it was swamp land if it was cheap enough I'd buy it.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

..On thing about land...they're not making any more of it! We bought 80 acres in MO and don't have any immediate plans for it but it's there and the taxes are next to nothing. Well done, Rider.

Excellent...there is a 39 acre lot and a separate 5 acre lot for sale that adjoin my property. I am trying to talk the ole lady into us purchasing one of them. She seems to think new counter tops and other things are more important.

Shilowar, buying property is the one thing I will draw the line with my wife over. First wife refused to go into debt to buy half of my family farm when my mother died and I could have bought it for a bargain price. A couple of years later she moved on and I am still pissed over it 45 years later.
