Had a cut on my chin that got infected. Cut it shaving and while at work unloading all the crap from all the 3rd world hellholes Amazon sells (err fine international merchandise ) I would touch my face or wipe sweat off with the back of my glove.
So friday a small rash appeared on my face so I decided to go to the doctor after the weekend. Today went to a gunshow and the to the shop. Got home at 7:00 ate sat down to watch a little tube woke up at 10:00 and the rash was up to my eyes.
Drove to the emergency room and they looked it over and gave me some antibiotics and antihistamines and sent me home.

Glad you were smart enough to get in and get it taken care of. Take the antibiotics for the full string and you should be good. [8D]

Anyone watch the TV show"Monsters Inside Me"? It's amazing/scary how some infectious organisms flourish and spread once they're able to invade the human body.

Infections on your face are nothing to mess with, they can wreak havoc. Take care of that!!! Hope it clears up quickly for you.

Take all of the antibiotics even though it probably will clear up before they are gone.

Years ago before antibiotics it was common practice to AMPUTATE to keep the infection from spreading [:0]

I had a small shaving cut around November last. It would start to heal, then shed the scab, and get irritated, Week after Week. After more than Twenty-Five Weeks, Wife made me go to the Doctor's (She was tired of the bloood on the Sheets, clothes, and so on). I was tired of the Irritation, and the area grew from a Pinpoint to larger than a Slip-on Pencil Eraser.

Doc numbed the area, and Cut it off my face. Sent it in for inspection. No call-back.

Doc said it was probably a "Pyogenic Granuloma" - sure was a Weird and New To Me sort of Process.

Is now healed and I can shave Normally, for First Time in Months!

I just don't shave. But avoiding infection is not my reason.

I haven't shaved since 1979; although I do some trimming when necessary. I hope you heal quickly now that your body has some help, wipala. Like select-fire said, take all of the antibiotics, even if it appears to be cleared up. Don't want to create any superbugs by stopping too soon.

Was walking the beach on Sanibel several years ago and felt dizzy and nausaus and blamed it on the heat, but when I passed on a vodka, everyone knew something was wrong.

Cold sweats, hot flashes; I was FuBaRed.
    Couldn't eat: : gone fot 3 days.

Got home to my family doc; took a bunch of tests.

    Finally declared: Unknown Viral Syndrome!!!!

He said "This one decided to beat you up, but let you live"

I guess there is a lot of stuff on the planet that does not want us to be here.
