C&R sell question

I know that I only need to add C&R firearms to my bound book since I got my license, but what about selling C&R firearms I owned before getting my license?
Also, if I don't need to enter them in my bound book, can I still sell them directly to another C&R holder out of state or do I have to go through their FFL?
Thanks.

You will probably get better responses if you post this in "Ask the Experts".

If a firearm is not listed under Acquisitions in your BB, you cannot enter anything is the Disposition section. You will, of course, keep the buyer's license copy in your permanent file.

ATF 5300.5 indicates that your C&R license is only for acquisition of C&Rs; when it comes to disposition, you have only the same rights as a nonlicensee (with 1 exception).

(The exception: A C&R licensee can transfer a C&R long gun to a nonlicensed resident of another state, provided that person acquires that gun at your residence.)

My understanding from reading the BATF website and discussions on other forums that if you sell a C&R that you acquired before you got your C&R you are supposed to enter it in your bound book as having come from your private colection and log it out as you normaly would. I think the wording is to the effect that any C&R gun you buy or sell while you have the liscense must be logged in and logged out of your book.
