I was talking to a builder at the range today and the conversation got around to the upcoming election.
He said that he wanted to work 2 more years before retirement but if Obama was reelected he was calling it quits and selling his equiptment while it still had some value .
anyone know others that feel this way ?

It would not surprise me. Obamacare and his other tax ventures are going to cause quite a bit more unemployment. Businesses will close and their owners that can will keep the money they have rather than invest it back into their businesses.

You will see alot of Doctors retire if/when Obamacare goes into full effect as well, and the quality of medical practice in this country will suffer for it.

With "Taxmageddon", the $494 billion tax increase that is slated to strike the economy on January 1, 2013. I don't think many small business's will survive. And just think that's not including state and local taxes that might effect some states.

My HR person went to a seminar last week on changes to expect for upcoming obamacare implementation. "Bend Over" is all she said afterward. Costs will go up by a factor of 5 or more and if your spouse is eligible for healthcare but you carry on your plan, you will BOTH be required to partake of the insurance at the 5x rate. That would make a LOT of jobs just not worth working.

I know so many builders or subcontractors that were forced to quit working For lack of it they went into other areas for dimes on the dollar. Its taking longer than it should have to rebound. Bone head gets back in not sure what I will end up doing

Know if Jobs do not improve soon ( I run out of Employment Dec 29th) I will be forced to retire. But if I work it right I only have a few More Payments on my truck which I think I can have paid off on Dec 1st I can Make it.

But will be living off of my Military retirement, Which does not leave much room for anything but Rent, Electricity and Food.

My Dr I had been going to for 20 years quit, he said he is not going to deal with the rules of obmmacare. He kept his lic. in case things change, but I doubt they will.
Just smile and say nothing, let them guess how much you know.

    Same with my Dr.
as to keeping the lic. I have no doubt that an obama government will pull the license of any that don't play ball.

You people are just as bad has all those Obummer fans who thought they life would get instantly better the second he took office.

Doesnt matter who gets in, nothing will change. The criminals who created the meltdown in 2008 are still the same people in charge in the big banks and wallstreet. Until they are drug into streets and shot nothing will change.

If you think Romney, the man you all hated sooooo much dring the GOP primarys, but now think is better than sliced bacon, will just flip a switch and the economy will boom, you are nuts and need to seek help ASAP

been in business 25 years. 20 people doing lots of work all over the country. these last four years down to 5 people have the building up for sale as soon as we get an offer we're done also
i blame the goverment and this community organizer that people elected as the downfall of my industry - i heard in sept of 2008 that my customers are done expanding and remodeling until they see what happens with the election - well its 4 years later.
i will never understand someone that looks at the wreck this clown has made of our economy and say to themselves "ya, i'll vote for him again, after all it's bush's fault not his" wow!!

I retired though the wife still works (well heck she's younger anyway). IF this guy gets re-elected her industry will certainly take a hit but how bad is anyone's guess. We'll certainly see an increase in small business failures and the medical field will suffer dramatically and as a result the citizen/patient. One son is a firefighter and he's probably sitting in the best seat out of all my children though I certainly feel for all of them in the event we continue down this path the politicians have put us on.

What has Mr Romney made millions and millions of dollars doing??? I'll help you out, he fixes broken companies and makes them profitable again. This country is BROKEN and needs someone like him to take charge. The current administration has done nothing but set up policies to TAKE from the MAKERS and GIVE to the TAKERS. Whats wrong with that you may ask??? Eventually you run out of other peoples money. Ask the USSR... (oh sorry, you may not be old enough to remember them... Reagan killed them off when you were about 12. )

For the life of me I just can't understand how anyone who supports the current POTUS, can come on a gun favorable site like GB, and type with all honesty. That clown would like nothing more than to remove every firearm from every home in America & toss them into the ocean. So oil up your guns folks. That way when he does get his hands on our guns & tosses them it will make an oil slick bigger then anything BP ever imagined. That would severally tick off the environmental wacadoos, wouldn't it?[;)]

Not sure how a lifelong profession of medicine and/or dentistry qualifies as getting "hosed".

The kids are still in Med School and are spending on the order of $200 grand EACH for their education only to have the current market destroyed by obamacare. If you don't understand why thats bad please let us know.

One of my friends has a son that just finished his 1st year of med. School.
The young man just got engaged and they have bought a house.
my friend has been telling his son to be cautious because he is going to be a "government employee"and he needs to decide now if he wants to take on that type of debt to work for the government.
Many dreams are going to be crushed if we continue down this path.
