The CBI recently stated that we British citizens should be prepared to tighten our financial belts for the foreseeable future. In fact, things could be about to get worse - much worse!
With President Bush continuing to threaten military intervention in Iran over its nuclear program, and even stating that it would be necessary in order to avoid World War III (a statement that has worried many commentators on the other side of the Atlantic - does Bush really believe, or know, WWIII is just around the corner?), oil prices will continue to rise overall merely on the strength of Bush's military posturing - and if he actually goes to war with Iran then we could see the price of a barrel of oil double, or even treble, its current price.
And Bush's threats aren't idle. On, or around, the 4th July the `House' and `Senate' in the U.S. are expected to approve House Joint Resolution 362, which will then only need the President's approval to become law - and you can bet your bottom dollar that Bush will approve it.
According to Congressman Ron Paul, this law is a virtual declaration of war on Iran, as one of its conditions demands that the President restrict all international movement of Iranian officials. And as Paul argues, what gives America the right to decide whether Iranian officials can or can't leave or enter Iran? It seems apparent that America is gearing itself to broaden its hegemony in the Middle East.

here's a scary thought:
"terrorist" retaliation on US soil, martial law declared and elections "postponed" (indefinetly)
NRA Lifetime Benefactor Member.
Even if we don't have another war, we are in for some bad times in the next few years.
