Range Report....

So, I took my new "Frankengun" out to the range yesterday and put her through it's paces. I get set up and pull the trigger for the first time and "click"......WTH? Eject the round and it's been hit but no BOOM, total anti-climactic result. Bad round. So, I re-chamber another round and BOOM! She spits out round after round with no problems, so we decide to zero the CenterPoint optic. I'm getting nothing on paper at 50 yards, so I bring it in to about 25 to get it on paper and start getting tight, consistent groups and pretty soon, start center punching the bulls eye. Pleased, I take a break and start zeroing my son's .22. When I go back to the AR, the reticle on the optic is faint, almost non-existent. Having put in a fresh battery, I am puzzled and tap the top of the sight. Reticle comes back in view and then fades again. Once I am able to get a consistent image, I begin firing again only to have my rounds all over the place. A friend of mine tries his luck with the same results. Not wanting to waste ammo, I shelve the rifle and focus on my son's shooting. So, to sum it up, rifle worked as it should, no hiccups at all with the American Eagle and Winchester 55 grain FMJ rounds. Optics, however, are a different story. It ate through a brand new battery in less than a day of shooting (put in Friday night), reticle fading and would not hold zero. So, I will be getting rid of this optic for a better one (Bushnell or Nikon). Lessoned learned on this one.

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Better than the best day of working!
Yessir, it is!
