    Yes. I would say it's a long action.[:I][:D][:D]
The length of the exposed bolt body compared to the length of the receiver ring is a good indication.

You can have a short action caliber chambered to a long action. That is a long action .308 IMO.

Yep. The magazine box will have a plug in the back to keep cartridges forward near the feed ramp.

A good candidate for a switch barrel gun, but for a dedicated .308 I would look for a short action.

I sent an message and asked the seller if that was the 308 in the pictures

I think it could be a picture of a 30-06 he also has for sale

    maybe he will respond

They both appear to be flat back long actions to me.

110's are all long actions, no matter the chambering[;)]

Agreed. The kind of hunting I do, with lots of walking, I wouldn't mind losing a half-pound from the action. This Savage might be old enough to predate the manufacturing of shorter actions for .308-family cartridges.

That makes sense. I had a 112 in 22-250. Short action cartridge, long action, single-shot.

    +1

I have a 22-250 in a (long action) 110 Savage. It just has a adapter block at the rear of the magazine well.

My Savage 111, 7mm-08 is a long action as well. I'd say it is around 10 years old.

    Yup.

My Swift is a 12BVSS. 3 digits are long, 2 digits are short. a long action receiver can be chambered for a short action caliber, but not vice-versa. I have heard this confusion for years.

That is a Savage 110 .308 produced in the late 90's. 110 is long action. If it was a short action 308 it would be a model 10
