was watching the rockford files the other day, allways enjoyed the show but the background is almost as enjoyable. as he drives through downtown all the cars in the background, this show was the early 70's and each car was still different. even saw a Pantera parked on the curb in one shot looking down a street. and the streets themselves, you know they don't look like that today, same with old movies, look close at the background sometimes its more interesting, places like vegas, miami, LA, ect......

have you ever noticed the 1961 mercury comet that is in all the Andy Griffith shows. its either setting on the street or drive by a scene in almost every show.

I just watched the movie "Topper" staring Cary Grant and just about drooled all over my TV remote seeing that brand new Auburn Boat tailed Speedster! [:p] The movie was in B&W but I'd bet the car was yellow.

OOOOOPs! I just checked on the net and found the Topper car was a 1936 Buick customized![:0]

Then another post said it was a Lincoln and then another said it was....[:(]

I read where a local Ford dealer would give / paint them a new one each year and sell the previous one.

as for the shows and movies I do also enjoy looking at the old cars or even just the way people use to dress .

All vehicles in Andy Griffith shows were furnished by Ford Motor Co. Sort of silent advertising.

On the original My Three Sons at the end they would advertise the new Chevy?s and on the later shows they had Pontiacs all through the show. Hazel would advertise Fords. At the beginning of one season Harold had a toy Thunderbird and they made pretend his keys started their real Thunderbird. Love seeing the cars.

There's two stations around here that plays nothing but older sitcoms. If I turn on the TV that's what I watch is one of those two stations
