Work boot replacement insoles

I have been buying redwing workboots for about 6 years now and it seems that their insoles do not hold up to me being on my feet 12-16 hours a day for two weeks at a time.
Last pair of boots I wore a hole in the insoles in about 5 months. The pair of boots I
Have now I've had about that long and the insoles are not holding up. My feet have been killing me.

So what do you gents recommend for a good insole for a workboot I'll be in for 12 hours a day?

Dr Scholls. Stand on the machine and you'll get a custom insole.

I've seen the Dr Scholls commercial/hype.
Are they really worth the money?

The doc does a good job for me but I'm not on my feet 12 hours/day.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

I use Superfeet which are fairly expensive but very cheap if you spend a lot of time on your feet.

I have pretty good luck with the generic gel soles from walmart.

Get two sets and alternate them, allowing them to dry and recover between wearings.

    Worked for me![8D]

Yes they are! I have heel Spurs on both feet that I have delt with for 30 plus years. Twenty five years back I got custom made insoles that helped a lot. Then my daughter told me about the Dr. Scholls and I have been using them ever since. They are much better than the custom made and while they seem high, much cheaper than the custom made.

I'm on my feet 10-14 hours/day, in a concrete floored warehouse. I have yet to find a boot or more importantly, insole of a boot, that holds up longer then 6-8 months. I can wear the boots longer, but my feet pay the price if I do. If my feet pay the price, my back, hips, and knees most likely are too. Not to mention, I'm sure the issues will get worse with age.

What am I saying? I replace my steel-toes every 6 months now. They are about shot after that, but are comfortable up to that point. Maybe a guy could get longer out of his boots with a more durable, stiffer model, but then you pay the price to "break them in."

I have been very happy with my Keens on the 6-8 months replacement plan and my feet and back have been thanking me for that the past 2 years.

Dr. Scholls are crap, and are junk for the price. Superfeet are the best there is. A tad pricey at $30/pair, but they'll last about a year or so. They are the only way my feet aren't killing me at the end of the day.

If you can get away with wearing tennis shoes, try SAS shoes; all my Nurse buddies wear 'em exclusively.
I wore Irish Setter from Red Wing for 26 years, then my favorite style was discontinued and switched to the replacement. Thinner leather, burrs on the eyelets, and softer Vibram didn't last a year. I used to get 2-3 years out of a pair, then they made 'em in China.
You could also try Thorlo socks; they have built-in pads for heels and the balls of your feet that improve comfort quite a bit.
