be proud of someone in authority who insured subordinates did not get promotions based on their failure to complete a test? Then when it came time for this person to pass the same test got all P.O.'d when the same standard was applied to him and he didn't get promoted?

O-5 didn't make O-6 because a flag was placed in his file due to failing to pass his APFT. He attempted to sabotage the officer who flagged him.

Worthy of pride? Not really.

This is one small example of how wearing a military uniform does not guarantee worth.

Respect the uniform, support the troops, but never make a blanket statement that you are proud of all that serve. This is a lemming mentality that got our poor country in the spot it is in now.

    Absolutely.

I used to go to a dinner theater regularly in San Jose. They were an adult only establishment. I could not imagine trying to watch the play with squalling brats sitting next to me.

It would be hypocritical for me to say a bakery should be allowed to refuse to bake a cake for a atypical wedding but this restaurant should not be allowed to refuse service to families with children under age of 5.

But it is also hypocritical for others to say a restaurant is allowed to refuse service to this group of people but a business should not be allowed to refuse service to certain other groups also.

I guess society thinks it is ok to cherry pick who can be discriminated against.

Their house, their rules. I feel that way about any place. If their rules offend me, I won't go there, but I still respect their rules. As to whether I would eat there or not, sure I would, if I was in the company of adults, though there are many of which I have seen behave a lot more rudely than children under five.

    Peace

I'd rather eat at a place that encourages customers to beat the crap out of parents that let their kids run wild!

Children used to bother me at restaurants and on airplanes, but not so much anymore. Nine times out of ten the parent is doing all they can, and it is rare that a child other than an infant really becomes a problem.

Maybe it is being a grandpa that has done it, but anymore kids make me smile. Hell, even the sound of a crying infant makes me smile. They are life and life is good.

That said, I would have no problem eating there. If a child-free restaurant is what some people want, who am I to try to get in their way?

Yep I'd eat there, sometimes I like peace and quiet when I'm eating. That's why I don't eat at Red Robin tin ceilings and a lot of kids don't mix.

One reason I do not go to movie theaters any more. Rude people. And people who bring infants, and unruly children. I love children. But a squalling baby in a theater is too much for me.

Absolutely, there's places to take children and there's places not to take children. If I want to go to a place with the young lady all dressed up sexy for me for romantic evening, I wouldn't want kids around. Children can ruin a romantic seating

That's why I would not take her to Chucky Cheese Pizza palace.
