Deutschland Erwache und Trinken ein Bier

I came home a little while ago from the shop. The first thing I did was grab a cold Einbecher Schwarzbier out of the reefer.
I sat down in front of the laptop and as I waited for it to boot up, I took a big slug out of the bottle and looked at it.
I've been worried a lot about Germany and France since the French election as now Germany will be doing the thinking for both.
Looking at the paper label my mind wandered to the German Beer Purity Law of 1516. Five hundred and one years the Huns have been making and swilling their brew.
THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THE MUSLIMS ARE GOING TO FORCE THEM TO GIVE UP THEIR BEER!
For a couple of weeks, Reports have been coming out of Germany that old army relics (NAZI ear relics) have been turning up in Army barracks and garrisons. There is a right wing cadre still in Germany. The government is raising Hell.
Yesterday, I read the EU is pressuring the Poles to start taking immigrants or their Euros will be cut. Eastern Europe, specifically Poland, is refusing to take ANY immigrants.
The House of Lords in the UK still has to vote on BREXIT. If they approve leaving the EU, it will give impetus to countries like the Netherlands to also bail out.
I don't know who our allies will be or what lines will be drawn for Armageddon. South America and Antarctica can probably sit it out, but most everyone else will play a part.
We live in some mighty interesting times. I think I'll have another beer. [:p]

I agree. When I was a little kid, I met Birchers that passed out stickers and tracts demanding we get out of the UN.
I visited the UN in '71 or '72. I wasn't impressed. They sold wooden Russian folk-art toys and no one was working.

I was in Stuttgart.
There was this big tent, a 30 piece oompah band on stage, about 3,000 people in the tent.

The Kraut gal could hold 4 literkrugs in one hand!
I was having a ball, that fresh German draft beer is so good!
You can't get anything like that here in America.
And we all sang German beer drinking songs:
