? for 9mm Reloaders

Is it possible to reload a 9mm to have the same ballistics as a .380 ACP without using cotton in the case.

The reason I ask, I would like to reload some 9mm that have a recoil that is not too heavy for my grandson's and I was thinking that this might work..

I do realize that I would have to change the weight of my recoil spring to facilitate the lighter charge

Light loads, ones that will operate your 9MM will be close to the 380 in recoil impulse. Just take the lower end of the load charts with fast powders and see if your gun will function. 231, Bullseye and Tite group should work fine with light bullets. Low charges and light bullets will keep the recoil down.
