if they're M.... how would we know where they are?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

Go to the archives. Pull a forums' segment of, say, 2002.

70pct. of the posters will be unrecognizable.

    Dynamics, my good man. Dynamics.

I read that the Communists kept French P.O.W's until the late 60's. I would not doubt that there could be some American soldiers young enough to still be alive, farming, or otherwise eking out a life for themselves, etc under the Commie control.

He's my argument in favor of there being pow's. During every war, there are soldiers who wish to stay behind. I have seen the interviews of approximetely 115 Korean War vets who voluntarily stayed behind after their war and are married or otherwise "hitched" to a wife or a family in N. Korea. This is public knowledge. So if the communist N. Vietnamese, (and Russians), are to be believed when they claim that there are NO POW'S, they would have to at least admit to having some Americans..but that they are voluntarily living there. And don't forget, there are documented stories of collaborators, who of course would have been welcomed by the commies with open arms. I believe that it is Ex Pres Nixon's book, "No More Vietnams," that touches on this subject.

    some have changed their names.
some have left of their own accord.
some have been shown the door.
    some have inevitably died.

regardless of which of the above is true for a particular poster, every day i wake up and the forum is still alive and kicking. life goes on, even in the absence of posters great and small.

i always kind of chuckle when i see a locator post for a particular member. it would seem to me that if a person made the choice to leave, or even if they were forced out, if they wanted to stay in contact with someone they would. its the internet. people are pretty easy to find.

Who in the hell wants to find them? Not me, I just wondered if they were hiding behind another name.
