I have done my homework but I am still confused.

I am looking for a CCW pistol for a get home bag. I am looking at the Sig P232 and the walther PPK. I have a H&K P30 and I am just thinking of buying another one, its small enough I think. I have read alot online that the 380 round is good for up close self defense, but 9mm is the way to go. the reason I chose those 2 pistols is because they are known for their reliability.

blowback kicks as hard at the .40 sigs, and it jams often.
i would not trust one.
they make so many good small 9mm now why buy an outdated design that is unpleasant and unreliable.
and i love sigs.
i do not have enough experience to comment on the walther
if it is really for the mission you are claiming for buy a baby glock or xd
literally 100% more effective
those european heel mag releases also are useless in combat
I'm digging those P238. Just think 380 is waste when 9mm is available in the same size package.
For GHB to left in a vehicle, I rather keep a cheap 9mm or 9x18 gun in there.
Small guns:
9x18 - PA22
9mm - Star BM
Larger:
Hi Power
Ruger P series
Ruger 357
When living in IL, I kept either an older gen 2 Glock 17 or my Rock Island in my vehicle.
I have a H&K P30 and I am just thinking of buying another one
you answered your own question! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my p30! So much so that the Kimber usually stays home.
You are familiar with it.
Same mags.
Interchange parts if needed.
Keeping something cheap in case it gets stolen means when you are likely to need to bet your life on it, you have something undependable.
my two cents (worth nearly .06 if pre-'82 copper[;)])
