...........my wife's computer, will her computer tell my computer what my computer is doing wrong?

You need to run a different cable from the LAN port (LAN connectors are much bigger)assuming they both have that (all recent, 5 years do) and then both computers must be networked to each other or run through a hub.
Best to ask about this on a Geek site like Firing Squad

No; but with or without a cable, your wife will always tell you what you are doing wrong.

Here I am trying to say sumpin silly worthless and completely void of any redeeming value, and you come along with some serious technical advise.
Once again, I plum fergot ta use one of these: [:D][:D]
Yes, it will slowly drain every last electron from the battery and shame your computer into being a CPU with no self esteem, instill RAM-envy. Your computer will become (quad) Core-phobic...sapping every last CPU cycle with de-fragging, anti-virus scans and endless menial domestic sub-routines.
It's BAAAAaaaaaad...DON'T DO IT!
Not only that but every time you go to turn your hard drive on it will automatically send a virus to her memory and shut itself off
It takes a certain "protocol" (computer-language) to do that.
In short, it takes a form of "Master" (Computer) to control the connection - and a "Slave" (like a USB harddrive, thumbdrive) to carry out the instruction demanded by the "Master".
Two "Masters" won't connect.
There IS however a USB-to-USB device, that allows you to connect two computers directly together, by use of a special USB-cable - but it takes a driver ("protocol") for them to connect evenso.
usb is powered, dont think it would be a good idea to hook to positive lines together, as suggested cat5 cable, but since you are running 2 computers, i assume you have a router, you can network them with limited access to each other, if you where an advanced user, you can take control of one puter to the other, but like i said, if you dont know on your computer, another one is not going to help, it doesnt work that way
well i thought of it, but since he didn't put a smiley, or in green
I got a notice from Admin a while back telling me I had used way over my quota of sarcasm green.
It will be 2014 befo I will get to use it again.
After interfacing, her computer will attempt to install progressive control parameters to your machine. Gradually you'll notice, that processing time and access to your applications are more and more restricted and require prior authorization from the master computer (hers). Eventually your computer will become nothing more than a slave device for processing unsightly and/or burdensome tasks her computer issues. If you attempt to remove the control parameters all attempts to interface will be rejected. If you attempt to uninstall the connection you will loose half or more of your data!
You have been warned!
