Well I finally got my hands on one of these. Its my wifes brother's rifle. We finally set aside some time too shoot it. Definantly a cool gun. Anybody own one of these?... what are your thoughts on this.

lets all be responsible! shoot a criminal! Remember 0% of firearms pull there own trigger!

Friend of mine back in NJ. had one his Pop pop gave him. I never got to fire it.
I know it was a Military arm and fairly accurate, even w/Iron sites.
It looks like it would pack a real wallop of a kick. Is the rifle heavy enough to negate the kick?

Too rich for my blood.[:D] Besides I just bought 100 empty cases
a few days ago on an auction here. With what I already have that should be enough to last me the rest of my life.

Even with the 40 rds you think I'm too high? I wondered if I should just list 1 box with the pic I took. But I only have the two boxes so I put them both on auction. Just didn't retake the pic.

So,,,What's your rifle like? Seems to me like it'd be a bigtime kicker. What would you equate the recoil to? 10ga.3-1/2" Mag. Buck? Ought 6,.308,30/30?

I have heard 30-40 Krags are not loaded very hot due the the bolt design. They only have one locking lug.load them too hot and you wind up with a bolt in your skull.

Your high, and besides the Krag was designed to shoot 220gr bullets.
I have a friend that cast gas check bullets for me, it cost me about $10.00 a box to load for Krag.

When I was having a hard time finding brass I checked out the price of loaded rounds. I found them several places & most of the prices were in the $26 to $29 range for a box of twenty. Of course you would have to add tax but no shipping.
I'm seventy years old & the ammo I already had plus the 100 new cases should last me the rest of my life since I don't shoot the Krag all that often anyway.

The shipping on ammo is what kills the price break. You need to sell bigger lots to offset the costs, not smaller. There are 3 auctions going on now for krag ammo, you are the highest priced. JMHO

With 30-30s and 30-06s bringing $25 a box these days I am sure the Krag ammo is quite pricey at retail. A couple years ago a dollar a round was reserved for the big British calibers but now common hunting caliber bring that and more.

    It's a brave new world...

This is where I look to see when pricing, completed auctions. My opening is cheaper than what these sold for. We'll see.[:D]

Probably wouldn't work for this auction but free shipping auctions tend to bring what the market value is plus shipping.

I have seen this on ammo. I automatically add shipping to every bid and thats my limit on that item. I have picked of some practice ammo for slightly cheaper off GB (than other suppliers) on free shipping auctions.
