What would be a good "ballpark" price for this 27-2?

    Are the stocks refinished?

The 6" is the most common. The 3.5 is the sexy one everybody wants. The longer the barrel the lower the selling price. Looks like high end shooter grade to me. Assume no box/docs and stuff? I would ask $600 and see what happens. But I have been accused of undervaluing guns.

So if I could get it under $700 would be a decent deal?

    How about a 13-2 3" barrel?

savage170- Selling or asking? I've seen some really high asking prices...selling is another matter.

Doc I can't answer the question about the grips, I doubt the seller knows.

Just a observation what I seen at the show today didn't camp out at their tables to see if they got it are not but everybody was pretty consist on their prices. Any kind of N-frame around here is bringing a lot more then I'm willing to pay for them anymore

It's really impossible to put a value on a used gun. Too many variables. One may throw money at you while another walks away.

Ok well lets assume the gun has a nice tight lock up and that the other side is in the same condition as the visible portions. If I got it below $650 would that be a good value?

this about the best guide I can tell you to look at this is all completed auctions http://www.GunBroker.com/All/Completed/BCI.aspx?Keywords=*smith+and+wesson+27-2&Timeframe=1 Since the pythons have gotten out of reason the model 27 is going up all the time

I suppose it would have just been simpler to check the completed auctions!

Good point that could be true, seemed you had difficulty paying market for an SAA. [;)]

In my area I think if you got it in the 650 range you would be doing all right

based on a quick scan of the completed auctions $700 is definitely high.

Around here even the model 28 with quite a bit of holster wear is getting to be next to impossible to find in the 500.00 dollar range it is getting to be the old saying with Smith's around here is you didn't pay too much you just bought it too soon
