30th Anniversary

Feb.1 is our 30th anniversary and my wife wants to spend it with her friends from work going for 2 days to see if a stupid groundhog sees his shadow. It's a big thing here in PA when a bunch of goofs in top hats & tuks. pull a groundhog from a pen & if he runs back in, it means we will have 6 more wks. of winter. They start selling tickets at 1:00am in the morning for the busses to get to Gobblers Knob where the event tskes place. The whole even't lasts approx. 5 min. The biggest problem is I can't stand some of the friends.[:(]

Today marks the 30th year of deer hunting for me. This is my first deer, on my first day, on Nov 17th, 1983. I was in the stand a whole 33 minutes when I shot and dropped him with my Hawken .50 cal ML.
Everyone told me I'd never get one bigger, I have 7 that prove them wrong. [:D]
I want to thank my Dad for getting me involved in deer hunting.

Its never about us men. It's all about them and what they want. Can't stand my wifes friends either, but I tolerate them for her. It's why we have been married almost as long as you.

Many times I have just "sucked it up" for the benefit of my wife. After a couple of days the memory of whatever the event was, just fades away. It's a small price to pay for 42 years of wedded bliss. [:)]

    I almost forgot, Happy Anniversary!![:D]

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

+10000000 suck it up and go, love means you both give in sometimes.
The first 32 years are the hardest, I know this after 33 years.

I've never understood the prediction. The thing supposedly sees its shadow, which means the sun must be out. If the sun is out that means more winter? Some liberal dreamt this up, obviously.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

My hope is that the first 43 years are the hardest. I can't take too much more!
It's too late for me, save yourself.

I thought this was about the new Barett .50 but yours is good too.

Has anyone assassinated the hog? Or does he travel with more body guard than obama?

Thanks everybody! I told her I will have a good time but I not going to stand in temps in the low 20's to see a groundhog. She's ok with that so after that I'm taking her out to a nice meal. (Alone)

We knew you would give in, by the way no matter how tempting, don't shoot the groundhog...........
